Japanese media giant Nikkei has disclosed a data breach in which hackers used previously compromised credentials to access a cloud service on October 7, stealing 1.83 million records. Of these, approximately 150,000 contained sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, and dates of birth, though no credit card data was compromised. Nikkei has revoked the stolen credentials, notified regulators, and found no evidence so far that the stolen data has been misused.
