Dutch police arrested two men for orchestrating a sophisticated bank fraud scheme that stole over €380,000 (~$425,600) from 170 victims. The scheme used AI-generated voice calls impersonating banks to trick victims into downloading an app and scanning their debit cards, which extracted NFC chip data that was then used to withdraw cash at ATMs. The suspects, aged 23 and 25, were arrested on October 6, with their servers, phones, and laptops seized as part of the investigation.
