Chainalysis has disclosed that a sophisticated cyberattack exposed credentials for all users — including names, usernames, password hashes, and live tokens — forcing the company to take several key services offline, including Reactor, Data Solutions, and its Know Your Transaction platform. The attack is part of a broader wave of AI-driven cyberattacks targeting tech companies, involving agentic tools like ARTEX that autonomously scan for exposed credentials and conduct follow-on attacks with minimal human involvement. Alongside this, a growing "LLMjacking" ecosystem has emerged, in which criminals steal cloud access to commercial AI models and resell it on underground markets, generating significant financial losses for legitimate account holders.
