Capcom Breach Exposes 11 Million Accounts via CAPCOM ID Platform

Japanese gaming company Capcom suffered a data breach affecting over 11 million users after hackers gained unauthorized access to its CAPCOM ID online service, which was discovered on October 19. The attackers stole email addresses and account data from nearly 11.8 million users, with more sensitive personal information compromised for a smaller subset of customers, and passwords changed for 196 accounts. Capcom has reset the affected passwords, notified relevant authorities, and urged users to remain vigilant against phishing attempts while the investigation continues.
